Let's talk about the hub for a second. Lightwave and modeler, the two applications which makeup Lightwave 3D, can communicate to one another through a message board called the hub. This is a very handy feature because when you make a revision to an object in modeler, the object is immediately updated in layout and vice versa. Let's take a look at the hub and see what it looks like. This is the hub. It automatically launches whenever you launch either modeler or layout. The way it works is with both programs open, the hub communicates constantly to see what is updated in either application and then sends that update to the other application. I know it sounds confusing but let's take a look right now at modeler. I have a model loaded of a house and some trees and some grass. I am going to change this roof very quickly by just adding a bevel. Then let's see the change automatically reflected when I go back to layout. See, the hub updates the object in layout automatically. I can do this by clicking on any object within layout then clicking in the modeler button, making a revision to that object and switching back to layout to see the update happen automatically. The hub is a great way to efficiently work with models in both modeler and layout simultaneously.
