Hello! I'd like to welcome you to the Virtual Training Company course entitled Microsoft Exchange 2010 Administration. My name's Mark Long and I'll be your instructor for this course and this is kind of a companion course to another one that we offer here at VTC, and that companion course is Microsoft Exchange 2010 Design and Implementation. Now on the Administration side we're going to delve into Exchange 2010 and look at what the new features in Exchange 2010 have done to the prospect of providing good administrative support for your users who are using Exchange 2010 as their email servers. Now we'll take kind of a full-bodied approach here and I'll give you some background on Exchange. We'll talk about general administrative tasks and responsibilities but again, we're going to kind of concentrate and dig in a little bit to some of the new aspects of Exchange 2010. I think in the years to come when we look back across the various versions of Exchange as this product has matured and evolved through its life cycle we'll see that Exchange 2010 implemented some really ground breaking ideas with Exchange and really kind of changed the game. There's a lot of questions that you always have when a new Server product comes out. Are there enough new functionalities to really persuade me or to convince me that I should invest all the time and the dollars and the impact on the bottom line that's going to take to actually roll out the latest version. And I would say with Exchange 2010 the answer is a resounding yes. And while some of that is apparent in the design aspects of Exchange 2010 I think you're really going to be impressed with what you see from an administration side on Exchange 2010. So having said all of that, let's jump into the course and I'll start off with a little course Overview. We'll cover kind of what's new in Exchange 2010. I do some preliminaries, and then we will just jump right into the whole idea and concept providing administrative support in an Exchange 2010 organization. So glad you're here. Let's get started.
