(SFX) Welcome to Pro Tools 11. Hi, my name is Sam McGuire and I'm going to be your guide as we explore Pro Tools 11, the new features, the old features and everything in between. I'm really excited to be a part of this because I'm really passionate about Pro Tools and I think that it's a great tool. It's a tool that has defined the music industry and it's still going strong. It's used in tons of recording studios and in live venues and in people's garages and basements all over the world. So we're going to get in and talk about this, we're going to use it. We've broken up this course with projects. Work Files which are included and I'll show you what those look like right now. Right here. We've got four different projects. A MIDI project, an audio project, a post production music project and then one to just help us demonstrate some of the advanced editing techniques such as Beat Detective. These are projects which are small primarily because we want to make that efficient for you to download and use. But it has some stuff in there which is going to be able to help you follow along and do the same things that I'm teaching you. Because that's one of the most important things. It's never going to be enough for you to sit and watch and just absorb. The most important thing you can do throughout this entire course is have something open, have Pro Tools 11 open and follow along. Pause me. Just push pause, open up Pro Tools, mess around with what we're teaching you and then come back and learn some more. Now not all of you are going to need every single video that we're presenting here. It's okay to skip around. Look for things that are going to be interesting to you because if you're interested in it, you're going to learn it a lot better. So definitely skip around as much as needed. The other thing I recommend 100 percent is to get a subscription to vtc.com. Don't just buy the disk although that's great too because it gives it to you all the time. But also get that subscription because we're building on years of courses about Pro Tools. And some things in Pro Tools haven't changed and some things have. So you're going to be able to go back and anything that we talk about in here is going to be enhanced by listening to somebody else teach about it because I'm not, again I'm not the only one who's taught about for VTC. So you can go back and learn from all the people who have taught about the other version as well. Especially the topics about mixing and the effects. Because those are principle based and are not going to have changed wheras some of the features will have changed. So explore these other ones really get in but definitely be using these projects in the Work Files or your own if they're similar. So you, that way you can really cement the knowledge you're learning. Okay. Let's get in right away and talk about some of the new things that are in Pro Tools 11.
