Adobe Flash, the de facto web animation package, is a must-have in the arsenal of every web and mobile designer. In this course, you'll discover the ins and outs of creating and managing Flash movies and interactive content. Come along for the ride as we delve into working with Flash's interface, tools, and objects. Learn how to manage shapes, build symbols, and manage instances. Then, follow along with the huge array of animation techniques, including tweened sequences, applying easing, and special effects. Hi. This is Geoff Blake for VTC and welcome to Adobe Flash CS5. Are you ready for some Flash insanity? Lots of learning? Lots of fun? There's so much to show you here and I'm really excited to dig into Flash. Flash is one of these programs that, you know, I've been using it for years and years and you know, it's one of those additional tools that I add to my arsenal of available design weaponry. But in any regard, here's a quick rundown of some of the things that we will talk about and some of the things that you'll learn here in this course. We'll talk about what Flash is. I want to give you an understanding of what Flash is and how it works and I also want to talk about Flash's strengths but then also to be fair, we'll talk about Flash's weaknesses as well. And then we'll get comfortable inside Flash's interface. There's a lot to look at inside the Flash interface, no doubt if you've already launched the application and then we'll talk about getting around inside Flash files. Navigating and zooming and moving around inside your Flash movies. From there we'll dig into Flash's drawing tools. We'll draw some objects, we'll work with the shape tools, you'll see how to manage those objects and those shapes and also how to work with color, applying color, creating custom colors, all that good stuff and then from there we start getting into the heavy stuff, getting into things like symbols and instances and we'll talk about the three main kinds of symbols. We have graphics, buttons and movie clip symbols so you'll see how that all plays out and we'll also work with editing symbols and we'll work directly with Flash's library as well. From there we dig into animation. We'll create something called motion-tweened animation and we'll also use Flash's animation presets and then of course from there we'll get into editing our animations, editing our animated sequences and also of course controlling the playback timing of those sequences and then what we'll do is we'll get into some traditional-style animation. I have some things to show you related to that. We'll work with some layers and then finally we'll finish off by having a discussion on your publish settings inside Flash. So I hope that sounds like fun. I hope you're ready for it all. So let's dig into it, let's get started.
