Hi and welcome to this tutorial series on learning Adobe Flash CS3 Professional. My name is James Gonzalez I'll be your guide through this look at the world's leading software tool for creating media rich interactive presentations and websites. This course is composed of movies between three and seven minutes in length organized with other movies and sections of related Flash techniques or topics, starting with this section, providing an overview of the tutorial and the Flash application. The Flash program interface is then covered including a review of all of Flash's important windows, panels and interface components. Next we'll learn how to create and modify content in Flash using the drawing and selection tools in the tools panel. After learning how to create graphics you then learn how to modify Flash graphics focusing on the selection and the sub selection tools and how to use content not created with Flash but imported into it's authoring environment. Next is presented the fundamental topics of symbols and movie clips, the entire middle section of the tutorial is devoted to Flash animation techniques including frame by frame, shape tween and motion tween animations. You next learn how to create working animated buttons followed by sections of movies on how to add and work with text, audio and video media. The final one third of the tutorial is devoted to adding interactivity to your Flash projects with behaviors and components and then an overview of Flash's powerful, internal scripting language ActionScript. And the tutorial concludes with a review and demonstration of the various Flash publishing and export options. Before we begin I need to orient you on how these videos work. I'm currently using screen capturing software to record my voice and computer screen, notice as I move my mouse, interact with Flash it gets recorded from my screen. The video images you see here are being captured by this screen recording program, I will be recording my screen while demonstrating all the important features of Flash CS3 Professional, giving you a very visual, detailed look at the application using the supplied Flash working files. You can go one step further and go with an hands on approach to learning Flash by using these supplied working files to practice the techniques that I demonstrate while capturing with my screen recorder. One of the best features of this tutorial all the working Flash FLA and SWF files that I've included that were used to demonstrate all of the Flash techniques covered in the individual movies. You can see that I have quite a number of files that I've prepared and put in the working files folder, right here notice working files. These working files are all named in accordance with the name of the movie they were used for. For example to have a look at the FLA file used in the movie button states. Open the button states FLA file right here. You'll find these working files very helpful in your efforts to learn Flash in the most efficient and effective manner. In many cases you'll want to use these working files to work along with my demonstrations in a particular movie. For example, completed examples from the movie entitled creating rollover buttons are found in the file called animated button finish, right here. To complete the demonstration on your own from the start you would use the corresponding file right here animated button start. Opening and investigating the wealth of files I've organized for you here will go give you insights and learning opportunities beyond what's covered in the tutorial movies themselves. Use these working FLA and SWF files to practice techniques covered in the movies to see how the author of the movie has set up scripts, layer stacks, libraries and much, much more. Each movie remember was chosen or created to demonstrate and instruct on a specific flash skill or technique so I've included them in this tutorial to give you more help in mastering this information. Let me now move on to the next movie and give you a general definition of Flash, what it is and some reasons why you'd want to use it. And also let's take a quick tour of the Adobe website and look at the Flash site of the day page to look at some examples of Professional quality Flash projects.
