Now let's talk about actually getting Workstation and getting your hands on this thing. I'm going to show you a couple of things here that you need to be aware of. First of all, if you just go to VMware.com, it will fill all this other stuff in for you but it will take you to the home page for VMware. Now once you get there, there is a lot of information on VMware's website and if you'll come over here to the Products and this is kind of interesting, a lot of companies will stick products on the left side. They've put it right here and I'm going to scroll down just a little, you'll notice that they have them broken down into various areas. Here are your Free Products so if you want VMware Player, this is where to get it, then there's VMware Server, we won't get into that right now, but we're going to take a look in this course specifically we're going to focus on VMware Workstation. If you're a Mac person, you can get VMware Fusion for that but notice if I just click on VMware Workstation and I don't know why it's not up here today, normally it's here, that you'll see these little icons out here beside these if they have free trials available. But if I just click on the link and go to VMware Workstation, notice it brings me here, to get this, I just try for free and if I click that link, it's going to take me to a form that I'm going to fill out. And if I've already been pulling down VMware products or if I own a VMware product, I will have a VMware account, I can just login and grab it or I can create one. And notice I can pull down the, the trial I want and once I complete this, it'll pop up with a download. Now this is going to be VMware Workstation 8 for the Windows machine. It's going to be about 468 megabytes, so it's not a small download but if you're on, fast access, cable or DSL, it's not going to take you long at all. Once you get that, I want you to notice that on the Workstation 8 page, you know, they have the typical marketing things going on here. But if you'll click in the Support Tab or if you'll just find Support for it, this is where you want to go. Notice they've got all kind of data sheets and they got the frequently asked questions here with all kinds of information about what it is, what it does, some of the easy things you can do. But then notice over here, Documentation, you can get the documentation in PDF form, getting started, using, you know, online libraries, installing tools, there's lots of good information here and you see all kinds of documentation resources going back on previous versions. Also this is a really good one, notice Workstation Community Documents, now if I go into this, this is one, this is like a forum and notice here is documents that are out there. I can go to Discussions, notice there's 20,162 discussions and you can see all kinds of things. You can learn an awful lot when you've got some spare time, just 5 or 10 minutes at a time. Just go through here, take a look at these, go out there and, and click on one and just kind of read through it and you'll get all kinds of incredible information out there about what you can do, various resources to point to, to see how to really make some magic happen with VMware Workstation. So I just wanted you to see this, go out there and download it, install it. Again VMware Workstation, the install is pretty straightforward, download the executable, double-click it. It'll install and then you're going to be ready to go and then you can follow along with me in the course as we create our first virtual machine and we're going to do that in a video later on. Just look for the video in the course here that's entitled aptly, Create a VM. So anyway that's how to get Workstation, so go grab it, download it, install it and then you can follow right along with me.
