In this video, we discuss troubleshooting at the command line. As described throughout this course, there are many commands that you can use to troubleshoot problems at the command line interface. This is just the briefest of reviews. Of course, log files are primarily reviewable at the command line. Most of them are located in the var slash log directory. If you need to manage partitions, know the ins and outs of the Fdisk and the Parted commands. Go beyond what I've described in other videos, as it can help you learn more about Linux. Know how to control services. You won't get credit for something you configure unless the service is active the next time we boot Linux. The key command line tool for this purposw well, the real key command line tool is the checkconfig command. If you need to check modules, know how to use the lsmod and the modprobe commands. Key commands for configuring networks include ifconfig and ping. It's also good to know how to check the routing table with the route-n command and add any special routes that you might need. Commands associated with user management include user add for creating users, chsh for managing password characteristics, and passwd, p-a-s-s-w-d for setting passwords. Thanks and on to the next video.
