Congratulations. You've made it to the final video of this course, using scripting to automate system maintenance tasks. The requirement from the RHCT Exam Prep Guide suggests you need to know the cron system, specifically the cron scripts in the directory specified in the etc slash crontab configuration file. The scripts in these directories provide a model to help you automate your own system maintenance tasks. Let's take a look at the scripts or a specific script in the etc slash cron.daily directory. They happen to be run in alphanumeric order, in other words, Oanacron first and Tempwatch is run last on my system. Let's examine the Oanacron script. The first line isn't a comment, but it's an indication to use the bash shell, these lines that follow our comments, and the script is really simple. In other words, if Anacron isn't already running; if it's running, this file would exist. The Anacron script would run all the other scripts in the cron.daily directory. Thanks and congratulations. You've just completed the Virtual Training Company course for the Red Hat Certified Technician exam.
