Now let's Create the Main Menu for the Todo application. We'll Open the Default Menu, and we'll see that it has here a few menu, top level menu's that are added by default so we'll just go through them and add what we need. To start with, we'll Add a Close Window Command to the File Menu. It is always a good idea to Use the Ampersand to indicate the Hot key for applications that might run on Windows, in this particular case the ampersand will indicate that the C is the Hot key, this will appear as Underlined when the user holds down the Alternate key. You can also notice that when we type the text that is displayed in the menu, by default REAL Studio will create a name based on that text for you. Now we want this to appear above the Quit Menu so we will drag it up there and lastly we'll use a typical keyboard shortcut of Command W to invoke this Menu item. The Edit Menu we will leave as is for now, but we will Add a New Menu and we will call this Tasks. This new menu will contain items for manipulating the tasks in our Todo List. We will need to Create a New Task so we will Add that, we will need to Edit a Task and we will want to be able to Delete the Task, and we will Add a Separator and Add another Menu item for a future report that we may want to display, let's call it Completed Tasks Report. The next menu we want to Add is the Help Menu, the Help Menu contains the About Command for the application, this Opens the About Window that displays typically the icon for the application, the version number, copy write information and other useful stuff that tells you about the application. And lastly, we do want to Add a Preferences item so let's put some Separators here, we changed the Super for the Preferences item to be Prefs Menu Item, this simply allows REAL Studio to move the Preferences Menu to the Application menu on Mac OS X. We also should do that for the Help Menu, and change that Super to be Apple Menu Item, this will move the About Todo Menu also to the Application Menu when the application runs.
