We will now look at ToDo running on Ubuntu Linux. Here you will see I copied the Linux build for ToDo over to my Ubuntu Linux virtual machine. In the folder you'll see the ToDo application itself and the lids folder which contains the shared libraries used by the Linux application. On Linux it is important to verify that the properties are set to allow the application to execute. If this is not checked the application is treated as a text file and will not run. Here you can see the application looks ok, but when we click New Task, we'll note that some of the controls don't quite fit, completed is slightly cut off, that priority, category, and some of the buttons aren't quite tall enough to fit the text contained in them. We'll create a task for this. The reason the button heights are off is because of the theme used by Ubuntu Linux. Other versions of Linux will not exhibit this problem. We will be able to replicate it fairly easily and fix it using the remote debugger. We will look at that in a future video. Deploying a Linux application is probably best as a Zip file. In Ubuntu you can just right click on the folder and click Compress. This creates a Zip file that you can then distribute to your Linux users.
