Once you web app is complete, you're going to want to build it for deployment. Building a web app is quite similar to building a desktop application. First you need to check your properties of the app class. In particular, the app name properties. Because you're typically going to deploy your application on a single server, you're usually only going to need to worry about the operating system that, that server is using. So you can see here, we have named our MAC OS X app to be ToDo Web and it has the default extension of FCGI which stands for fast CGI. In the project menu, you can view the build settings for your application. On the Web Tab, dynamic fast CGI is the web protocol that is used to deploy your REAL Studio web application. Choose build application to build your application. This will create a folder containing the fast CGI executable, and any related files that are needed. You'll want to refer to the user guide, chapter fifteen, on how to deploy this. Scroll down to the section on using fast CGI with Apache on MAC OS X, or Linux. The configuration of Apache varies slightly depending on how it has been installed, but essentially you need to enable the fast CGI module. Configure the configuration file with the appropriate settings, and put your app in the appropriate location. As REAL Studio Web Edition is still fairly new, these instructions continue to evolve so be sure to check the online documentation regularly.
