Once we start creating alerts, it'll be necessary to manage these alerts. There will be times when we need to edit, delete, and modify information within the alert itself. When in a register, it's easy to note an alert when they are flagged. At any time I can right click the transaction, return to Notes and Flags and see all of the information regarding the alert. If I'd like to change this transaction and include an alert on an individual flag, I can say OK. If I go to right-click and go to Notes and Flags and want to change the text, I can simply add to the text. Anything that I'd like to do can be changed just by going into the Follow-Up Screen. When I say OK, I can now see each of the flags and the information. Of course, when you place your cursor over a flag and you pause it for a period of time, you will find any of the note information that has been typed on the screen. If there is no note information that has been entered, no information will appear from the flag. So it's always important to use your flags in conjunction with notes. If I go to the Tools Menu and down to Show All Alerts, I will also see a listing of all the alerts that I have placed in the system. Now, it is important to note that this Alert Center will show alerts as of the current date. It's important to note that if an alert is coming up next week, it will not be visible on the Show All Alerts Screen. This is meant to be current alerts only. At this point in time, you'll note the individual transactions that are flagged. If I select the word Transaction, it will take me directly to the transaction where the alert has been established. On the bottom of the screen you'll note Alert Center. I can return to the Alert Center simply by clicking. Each transaction will always have the word Transaction highlighted in blue that'll allow you to get to the individual entry. In the case of alerts that are maximum balances or other information regarding goal setting, I am going to return to the Setup Screen. Here I will note the information that the actual alert has been set for. In this case, I have two maximum balances. One is for checking and one is for online savings. If, for instance, I'd like to change the maximum balance for online savings, I will go to Setup, I'll go to Cash Flow and I will go to online Maximum Balances. Now, note; the check marks will make it easier to understand which of the areas my alerts have been set in. When I select it by highlighting it, each of those goals will appear on the screen. I'm now able to change the information. Return to Show All, I'll see my changes. The most difficult aspects of working with alerts is understanding the naming conventions. It's important to understand that the information before the colon will be the name of the information that you will see under Setup. Remember, it's important to understand the components of cash flow versus investing versus taxes and general as each of the alerts will be set within the area. You can, however, open up each of the Plus Signs to see a full list and then remember that only what has a check mark next to it is being utilized as an alert. Until you're comfortable with the terminology, you can always use the feature of clicking on each one individually to see where the alert is that you want to change. Whenever I make my changes, it'll automatically be updated in the Alert Center area. Again, always remember that not necessarily all of your alerts will appear. You will only see the alerts that are effective as of the current date and time.
