Subtitles of the Movie

I'd like to go over the top ten new features in Bento 2. As we move forward in the course and I'm designing databases and we're working in Bento, I'll try and point out all these new features as we move through them and we will cover each one of them while we're going through the course. I just want to give you the highlights of the new features right now. First of all, you now have Apple mail integration. You can simply drag and drop Apple mail messages, notes, RSS articles directly into Bento without having to do anything else. It's great. There's more spreadsheet-like behaviors. So if you're accustomed to using spreadsheets like Excel or Apple Numbers, you'll really get a kick out of the way you can simply do a fill down, you can copy and paste cells much the same way that you can in those types of programs. There's better direct number in Excel support so you no longer have to save your spreadsheets as csv files and then import them and so forth. You can move data directly into and out of those programs. There's also importing and exporting of tab delimited files. So this is really great news for AppleWorks users who may have wanted to move off of AppleWorks since that program is no longer in development and move over to Bento. You can export your AppleWorks databases as a tab delimited file and then bring it right into Bento. Now Bento 2 supports template importing and exporting. So the custom forms and so forth that you create in Bento 2 can be moved and saved from one machine to another. They are no longer just stuck on the one machine that you created them on. There's a great new split view where information is displayed in both a table mode as well as the details all on one screen. There's faster form customization so you can say goodbye to the old customize mode of your form. You simply click on the fields or the titles and so forth with anything that you want to customize your form view and simply do it right there; great time saver. There's built-in links to maps and chat. There's a new button right next to addresses so that you can link those to maps or even chat up other users. There's more printing options so you can better print your forms and lists a lot easier. And there's ten more themes so that you will be able to create great new looking forms for your databases.
