The content tool, when selected allows you to do the same thing as the item tool, to cut, paste, copy, but also to clear and delete and edit selected text or pictures. So, you cannot delete an item. An item is defined in QuarkXPress as a picture box, a text box, a line, a text path, tables, forms, form controls, image maps, groups, and multiple selected items. Whereas the contents refers to the pictures or the text themselves. In order to cut the image, you must select the box and now the image can be either moved when you move your pointer over the content, you can then move your image around. When you use a text path, the text insertion point will allow you then to add text or to delete text on a path. In the text box, you can select the box and then a text insertion point will allow you to cut, copy, or paste or in some cases up under file and get text to import text, which we’ll go through a little later.
