To switch the zoom levels from a magnified view to edit a small detail and then back to fit the window or a lower zoom level to check out the overall layout, you can do this using either the view menu or the view percentage field. Under the view menu, you can fit in window. The shortcut is command zero. You have either 50 or 75 percent and then actual size and your keyboard shortcut is command 1. 200 percent or your thumbnail view, which is shift F6. If you double click the view percentage field in the lower left hand corner of your document window or your keyboard command, which is control v, you can type in a number between 10 and 800 and then press the enter or return key. You don’t have to enter the percentage symbol. If you want to view thumbnail type in t and then press the return or enter key. You can access the zoom key from a keyboard command and it’s much faster than selecting and deselecting the tool from the tools palette. Control, shift, click will access the zoom in and option, shift, click will zoom out. By holding down the control shift and clicking and dragging the marquee area of the page will magnify the area that you want. If you want to move around the page in the Mac system you have a page grabber that is unaccessible while the caps lock key is pressed down. And in both the Macintosh and Windows, the page grabber is unaccessible while the zoom tool is chosen. By holding down the option key, you can move a page in the document window so the cursor will be temporarily turned into a hand icon. You can also move a document in its window by using the scroll arrows in your window or by using the scroll bars. You can jump to the different pages by clicking on your document layout window or you can jump to different pages by using the go to page menu or field at the bottom of your document window.
