The Interface / Open Document

Subtitles of the Movie

To create a new print document in QuarkXPress navigate up to file and down to open and then across to document. You can create a new document as long as you have less than 25 files open. And when you create a new document, you can determine the size. To specify the size choose an option from the size pop-up menu or enter a value in the width and the height and you’ll see that custom comes up for the page size. You can choose either from portrait or from landscape by clicking on the orientation icon. You can specify your margin guides by entering a value. When you check facing pages, this specifies that your document will contain a left page and a right page. By entering a value in the columns field, you can specify the number of columns in your document and you can also specify the spacing between the columns. When you check automatic text box, this automatically places a text box on the first page of your document and on the default master page. If you do not check the automatic text box, Quark still draws guides to reflect the values of the margin and the columns. Quark remembers the last values that we create for a new document and so when we go to create a new document, the last values that we created are preset. To create an existing document navigate up to file and down to open and then find the existing document on your desktop. When you click on a document, you can either see the preview if you have this checked, you can see the existing page size, what version the document is in, the size of the document and the date that you created it.
