To compare to existing style sheets navigate up to edit and down to style sheets. I am going to compare two existing paragraph style sheets and click the style sheet that you want to compare and then click shift to select the next one down or click command shift to select two non-consecutive items. By pressing the option key the append button will turn into a compare button and click on the compare button. This will display a summary of each component and the differences display in bold. You can also compare two style sheets in a description field of the file and append dialog box and then click cancel.
