Layers are tiers of a QuarkXPress document. Using layers allows you to isolate items. If you have items that you need to be in a document but you don’t want them to print, then you can place them on a hidden layer. You can also use layers to create different language versions of the same document. You can create new layers by choosing view and then show layers to display the layers palette.
