You also have the ability to specify character style sheets when defining lists. There is improvement to the book feature. This includes changes in network function ability and a new synchronized dialog box that lets you choose which items to synchronize. Spot and process icons are in the color palette and the find and change features finds and replaces colors applied to text. There is a redesign of the preference dialog box, which conveniently groups all application and document preferences. There is a transparent option when saving a page as an EPS, menu options for resizing pictures and picture boxes. And now you have multiple texts inserts and opaque text box editing. QuarkXPress is a powerful tool that can be expanded upon. Extensions are add-on software that give Quark applications extended capabilities and new functionality. There are many extensions that when added to Quark can customize and tailor your application. The various areas of extensions are graphics and design, editorial, language, including fonts and typography, data base and asset management, utilities, the Internet, production and printing and prepress.
