The Interface / Viewports
Subtitles of the Movie
Viewports are a way for you to access different parts or views of your model while you're working. Now as you can see by default we see a full Viewport, this guy right here, also known as simply a Port. But what if you want to work on the face and also work on the hand and the back simultaneously? Well, this little Icon down here, as you can see called Port Setup, which changes up here, allows you to do just that. If I click I can see I have a full Port. I can also go to 4 Ports and I have the Front, Top, Main and Right. But, these can be changed to suit your needs as well. You'll notice that there's a red outline on one of the Ports. You can click on any of them to make it the active Port and as it's active what you can do is change what view you're looking at very easily, so I can right-click here and I can choose Main Camera, right-click choose Posing Camera. I can choose the Right Camera, or whatever I want right from this list. It's very, very handy. I can also click here and click on one of these guys and I can move things around and, don't forget, when I showed you how to Restore things in an earlier lesson, go to Restore, Camera and it's back. I can also click on the Face Cam and there we have it. I click on the Hand Cam and it's really easy to change how I'm working. Very, very simple to choose that right from right-clicking on the word. I can also go here again and choose 3 Ports, which is really handy when I want to focus on the face and the hands or whatever, so I can go over here and make this one a Main Camera. So I can see everything in my scene at one time. So I think that you'll find that by working in different Viewport configurations you'll be able to work more efficiently because working in just one Port often requires you to continually rotate around to try to find the right angle for whatever it is you're trying to do. So instead of doing all that just simply split it up. And that, once again, is called a Viewport and you can find it right here on the bottom left of the Main Viewports.
