Subtitles of the Movie

All right, hello and welcome, my name is Jason Welsh. Welcome to my bio slash really cool thing that's playing in the background. What I did here is I took about six hours of footage and kind of sped them up for you, so that way when you're listening to me drawl on about myself, you have something to watch. That's how I am, giving you some entertainment. So, as a bio goes, you know, I guess I should start out with when I became an artist. Well, that's kind of impossible, and you ask any artist, when did you start being an artist? Probably about 90 percent of them will not remember a thing besides maybe playing with a few crayons. So, my inspiration towards my work is basically, when I was young, just out of high school, I started to be a tattoo artist. So a lot of my work kind of reflects that, you know? I always kind of add some balance to it and kind of some weird pieces involved and, it's a little bit of humor, and just wacky stuff, because that's how I learned to draw. I had a client come to me and say, hey, I need a walrus with a cigar right now. And I need it on my arm. So I was able to come up with weird, wacky stuff just right off the top of my head. I paid my way through college with my tattoo work and various other artwork, and I went for computer programming, which is very boring. So I decided I needed a different outlet in life. Then I started to get into 3D modeling and animation, and went on to get a teaching certificate in basic graphic design. It's called Career in Technical Education. It's a very, very cool degree because you're actually being taught by professionals in the industry. After that, I started to realize that hey, you know, maybe I can teach a few of these younger students 3D modeling and animation, and I did. And for six years I've been dragging it into the classroom ever since. And I figured out that one thing is always true. Students always learn at a different pace. And that's where I started doing video tutorials, because one person might get the whole workflow very quickly, and another one might have some trouble. So I had to come up with a way that everybody got taught, and everybody got taught at their own pace. Now, these videos are actually different from my previous videos that you can actually get at house of tutorials dot com and vio dot com for free, but these are actually more streamlined because this represents like six years of my work, questions from users, questions from students. So I've taken everything I know that people get hung up on and put it into video. Come see me at Jason Welsh dot com. I have a gallery over there. And House of Tutorials. I also hang out over at pixologic dot com quite often, the makers of ZBrush, and my nickname is canned mushrooms.
