Beginners Workflow / Applying an Alpha
Subtitles of the Movie
Okay In this movie, we're going to be using the Make a Plane and Alphas together, so let's go in here and we can now make a plane. And let's go into our Alphas and we should have these Alphas still here. If not, import them in. And first off, before we do that, let's bump up the surface a little bit. So, I'm just using the default things here, no big deal, and I'm just going to go on in here and bumping up the surface around things, maybe a bump here, a bump here. There we go. You'll want to do this. This is the height variation that you want to start with, with the details. Okay, now let's go into the first rock and let's change it over to Drag Rectangle, and let's click and drag, let's make the intensity a little bit bigger so the rocks are a little deeper. So, I'm just clicking and dragging out some of these rocks. Let's switch rocks. These are our higher res rocks. Switch rocks. That's why you make a bunch of these because you don't want repeating patterns within this stuff. Okay, so there we go. Not too bad. Not too bad. So, now, let's look at making it even more realistic and let's add some color to the mix.
