Perl Fundamentals Tutorials
Data Types / Now you try: Data Types
Subtitles of the Movie
Now that we have taken a look at some of the syntax for handling hashes and arrays, I'd like to set you a couple of exercises that you can try out for yourself, at the end of this chapter. Try creating an array containing 6 different kinds of flower, then output the third flower to standard output, whether that be the browser or the command line; however you are choosing to test your scripts. Second exercise is to create a hash of some names as the keys, and phone numbers as the values. Then use one of the names that you've allocated to display what the matching number is. You will find the answers to these exercises within the examples directory on the CD.
