Face Collage / Make Custom Image Portfolio

Subtitles of the Movie

Here's a project I like to call making faces. We are going to take a dozen or so of these face parts and create a new image portfolio, so that each of these mouths and noses and eyes can be dragged out to an existing image. They will be like a bottomless cup of image parts. So the first thing we need to do to create a new image portfolio is use the image mover. This shows us what's currently in the painter portfolio, which is the default portfolio. We need to create a new one and let's give it a name: let's call it face parts and save it where we want it. For the moment I'll just put it on the desktop. And I believe I need to drag some item in there in order for it to be recognized as a library. So I am ready at this point to quit, and now I am also ready to load that new portfolio. And I can do that by going down to the bottom of the list of what's in the current portfolio and use the load library command. I know that I have left it on the desktop. There it is, so let's open it and we have what we expect is mostly an empty library with just this little sunflower in it. Now I am going to take each of these images in turn and select all and by holding my option or Alt key down, and also I am going to need to use the selection - what is it, I keep forgetting - the layer adjuster tool, and I'll simply drag and drop that into the portfolio. I better give it a name, let's call it "lips pucker" and I'll click OK. There it is. And I can close that source image without saving it. Then I'll do each of these in turn. I'll do select all on this smile, hold down the option key, and give it a name. Let's call it "smile man" and click OK. And so on and so forth.
