In this movie, we'll close out our review of the Component Definitions that pertain to the Sequence Activities process. We're specifically covering those that have to do with the category of Constraints. As a brief mention before we dive right in I'd like to clarify that you don't have to memorize these official definitions, rather recovering them to be very thorough and to highlight some notes about each component as outlined by the Practice Standard for Scheduling. However, with that said you should understand what each means, you just don't need to memorize the actual definition provided. In these cases the behavior often outlines what you need to know. Make sure you feel comfortable with each component. Alright, let's go ahead and cover our remaining three components. We have Start Not Earlier Than and the behavior displayed by this component is it's basically saying that an activity can't start earlier than a given date. This should be used sparingly. And the official definition: "A schedule constraint placed on the schedule activity that affects when a schedule activity can be scheduled and is usually in the form of a fixed imposed date. A Start Not Earlier Than constraint prevents the schedule activity from being scheduled to start earlier than the imposed date." Next let's look at Start Not Later Than, and the behavior here is that this constraint is the opposite of the previous one except that we're imposing now the latest date that an activity can start. This should be used sparingly as we've again seen in many of these components. The definition: "A schedule constraint placed on the schedule activity that affects when a schedule activity can be scheduled and is usually in the form of a fixed imposed date. A Start Not Later Than constraint prevents the schedule activity from being scheduled to start later than the imposed date." And we have one final component to review: Start On. This refers to the date than an activity must start. We haven't talked about float yet, but a Start On constraint gives the activity a zero float duration, which refers to the flexibility of beginning the activity late. And the official definition: "A schedule constraint placed on the schedule activity that affects when a schedule activity can be scheduled and is usually in the form of a fixed imposed date. A Start On constraint requires the schedule activity to start on a specific date. Remember that none of these Constraint types of components should be used to replace Schedule Logic. That was the final component of this section and movie. We won't be covering any more within this course since we're only touching on those components that had to do with the material covered as part of this specific course in this series. You'll be introduced to more components as we mov along in the series. And that wraps up this movie and section.
