Subtitles of the Movie

In this movie, we'll wrap up our review of your Practice Exam with questions 36 through 40. Number 36 says: The scheduler will use all of the following to sequence the project schedule activities EXCEPT: A - Activity attributes; B - the Milestone list; C - Organizational process assets; or D - Project schedule network diagrams. The answer is B. What we're looking at here are Inputs. What information will the scheduler need or use to sequence the activities? There are five inputs to the sequence activities process: the Activity list; Activity attributes; Milestone list; Project scope statement; and Organizational process assets. Project schedule network diagrams are the result of carrying out the process and is therefore the correct choice. Number 37: While defining the activities needed to perform the work of the project, the project manager needs to review the deliverables, constraints and assumptions of the project. Where will the project manager find this information? A - Organizational process assets; B - Enterprise environmental factors; C - Scope baseline; or D - Work breakdown structure. The answer is C. The Scope baseline contains the project scope statement, the WBS and WBS Dictionary. Constraints and assumptions are documented within the project scope statement. The deliverables can be found within the project scope statement and also within the WBS. Let's move on to number 38: As the new junior scheduler of a large corporation, Mary is head of developing and managing the schedule of a small-sized project. Although the project was considered small for the organization, it was the largest project Mary had ever worked on. During her initial meeting with the project manager, it was made clear that the project had a limitation placed on how early it could start, which was properly documented within the project charter using a fixed date. This limitation is known as: A - Lead; B - As soon as possible; C - Project start constraint; D - Start not earlier than. The answer is C. A project start constraint limits the project early start date thereby affecting when the project must start and is usually in the form of a fixed date. This was the case in the scenario that was presented by the question. You may have been tempted to choose Start not earlier than, which places a constraint on how early a schedule activity can start as opposed to the entire project. Number 39: You are the scheduler of a project building a new product for a local government agency. Which of the following documents will you reference for details on the criteria used to develop and control the schedule? Is it A - the Project management plan; B - Updated project schedule; C - Schedule baseline; or D - Schedule management plan? The answer is D. The Schedule management plan is your guiding plan of how the schedule will be planned, executed and controlled. Because a schedule management plan is actually a subsidiary plan of the project management plan, A could also technically be correct, but B was the BEST answer, since it's more specific. The Schedule management plan covers the following major components: the scheduling methodology that will be used; the scheduling tool that will be used; the schedule format; tools and techniques of the processes; and the criteria for developing and controlling the overall schedule. And now let's move on to our final question of your Practice Exam, number 40: The 100 percent rule signifies that and of the four options provided the best one, or correct one, is D. One hundred percent of the scope be represented within the work breakdown structure. According to the PMBOK Guide the 100 percent rule refers to the WBS including all of the work of the project. The WBS therefore represents all of the product and project work which can best be described as the scope of the project. Within this section we've covered all 40 questions of your Practice Exam, bringing this movie and section to a close.
