Subtitles of the Movie

In this movie we'll address how to maintain your status as a credential holder of the PMI RMP credential once you pass your exam. After all, you worked hard to earn this title so you want to make sure that you stay on top of the requirements and maintain your credential as active. The program is called Continuing Certification Requirements or CCR. The purpose of the program is to continue the learning process so that you can further your skills within the industry, which therefore increases the value of credential holders since these individuals must stay on top of their knowledge domain. The CRR program also provides a way for you to formally document your learning and development activities, which also includes your activities in furthering the skills of others within the field. There are five steps to maintaining your credential and they're not difficult to uphold. First you'll need to report your professional development units or PDUs for short by the end of your three-year credential cycle. Just to clarify, the credential must be renewed every three years, which begins on the date that you pass the exam. PDUs are different from the contact hours that you accrued to meet the application requirements for formal education but they're earned in similar ways. Reading an article relating to risk management, taking courses such as this one, teaching a course and so forth all qualify as PDUs. As you earn the PDUs, you can log onto PMI's website and report the hours. If you have PMP credential, this is the same process. The only difference is that it must relate to risk management, just like the requirements for your contact hours. Next you need to submit a credential renewal application; easy enough. You'll be guided as to how to do this when you near the time of renewal. Next you need to once again agree to the PMI code of ethics and professional conduct and you also need to agree to the PMI certification application and renewal agreement. And finally, you'll need to pay the renewal fees of the credential. If you don't meet all of these requirements, you'll be placed on suspended status and you have one year to meet the requirements in order to become active again. If you fail to meet the requirements during that one-year suspension window, you'll lose your credential and you'll be required to take the exam all over again. As you earn your PDUs, be sure to keep documentation in case your renewal application is audited and you're asked to submit the proof of the PDUs. Keep a log like certificates or any documents showing that you earned that PDU. If it's reading an article, simply keep a PDU log. You'll find the specifics of how to report a PDU and what category your activity falls under on PMI's website. Click on Career Development in the main menu, then Certification and Credentials in the left-hand column menu and you'll see CCR reporting forms as an option and a link to information on maintaining your credential. Abundance of information is not an issue. So now when someone mentions the CCR program, you'll know what they're referring to and most importantly, you'll know how to maintain your status as PMI RMP credential holder once you pass the exam and officially earn the title. And that wraps up this movie, section and the course. I hope you've enjoyed this course and or the course series and I wish you the best of luck on the PMI RMP exam as well as your career in risk management. Thank you again for allowing me to be a part of it.
