Introduction / How to Get the Most Out of This Course
Subtitles of the Movie
In this movie we'll go through an overview of the course structure and the resources that are provided to you within your course Work Files. Knowing what these Work Files are for and utilizing them is meant to help you get as much as possible out of this course. For clarification purposes, the purpose of this course is to specifically focus on risk analysis, which includes perform qualitative risk analysis and perform quantitative risk analysis; two processes within the PMBOK Guide that pertain to the project risk management knowledge area. Although our focus will be on the PMI-RMP exam, this course will benefit anyone looking for an overview of risk analysis. Our goal for you to absorb and understand the material and provide guidance on what to study for for the exam. As you know, this is Part 2 of a three-part series on risk management. Each course is structured in the same way, with a brief introduction of the subject, an introduction of the processes covered, which in this case are the two I already mentioned, qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, an overview of the process inputs, a detailed review of the process' tools and techniques and finally a look at the outputs of the process, which in this case involves updates made to the risk register. By the end of the course, we'll have gone through workbook exercises, exam practice questions and review of terms covered throughout the course. Be sure to look within your Work Files before going through the course. There are several documents included and some of these documents are formatted to assist you in taking key notes of the processes. The following is a quick summary of the documents included within your Work Files, most of which you'll recognize if you've taken other courses within this course series. We have project terms and you'll notice that most of these documents are blank and that you must fill in the definitions or details. This is done purposely, since it's been shown that writing the definitions and notes manually actually helps you lock it in memory. The list of terms are also covered in the term review movies towards the end of the course. The term movies simply provide highlights for each term so additional notes may be necessary as you go through the process review movies. You'll find documents labeled Workbook. There's one per section and each section has about ten to 15 exercises. It's important that you go through the exercises before watching the review movies. There are 50 exam practice questions included, which I mentioned earlier and it contains questions covering the two processes within the course. Answers for these questions will be reviewed within the exam questions section located towards the end of the course. And you will also find a risk register update cycle document that's included in all three of the courses within this series. And that covers all the documents within your Work Files. If you tend to skip exercises during your studies, I do recommend taking the extra time to go through the exercise recommendations included within the course. And with that, we'll close out this movie.
