Introduction / Who Should Take This Course?
Subtitles of the Movie
In this movie we'll go through a few points to help you determine whether this course is right for you. As you may already know, this course is part 2 of a three-part series dealing with Project Risk Management. In this course, we'll specifically focus on risk analysis, both qualitative and quantitative risk analysis. Of the entire risk management process, most consider this to be the most complex to understand and it's my hope to take the mystery and complexity out of the subject. As we covered in Part 1 of the series, every project contains some level of risk. Therefore, if you are managing or participating in any project, this course will provide you with good insight into one of the many aspects of risk management. The level of detail that we get into regarding risk analysis is only the level of detail needed for the PMI Risk Management Professional Exam. This subject can get extremely complex, detailed and intricate, particularly when dealing with some of the risk analysis formulas. To clarify, this course does not dig deep into the technical side of risk analysis. With that said, the following are those individuals that would benefit from taking the course: those studying for the PMI RMP Certification Exam, those studying for the CAPM or PMP Certification Exams and anyone looking to gain further education in the area of risk management. Before closing out this movie, I'd like to mention something that may assist those preparing for the PMI RMP Exam. Some experienced project and risk managers have a difficult time with the exam and a lot of times, more than those that are less experienced. One of the reasons is that you'll need to answer question in terms of PMI perspective, which can sometimes be hard for very experienced managers to do. This doesn't mean that all other methods are incorrect, but only one of PMI Certifications shows that at a minimum you have the given level of knowledge of the processes and standards backed by PMI. While you may have another methodology for conducting risk management, remember that a company may hire you specifically because you hold a PMI RMP credential and therefore may expect you to conduct risk management as laid out within the PMBOK Guide. Other companies may have their own methodologies or processes as you may as well. And circling back to the exam, as you're going through the questions and options, be sure to answer them in terms of the PMBOK Guide. And that wraps up this movie. Hopefully I've helped you clarify whether this course could be of value to you. If you're ensure of whether pursuing the PMI Risk Management Professional is of interest to you, I recommend listening to the first section within Part 1 of this course series if you haven't already. And I'll also be providing you with a brief overview of the credential in the next movie.
