As with any material that you cover, it's important to build a foundation of knowledge before diving into the small details and specifics. This Section is devoted to creating a foundation of Project Risk by understanding the Risk Management Framework, and continuing to provide a high level overview of Risk Management in the Section that follows. This is also valuable information for those studying for the PMI RMP Exam, since we'll go through the Exam Objectives. According to the Project Management Institute, there are four Domains covered within the Risk Management Professional Exam, so we'll go through these Domains briefly in this Section, along with a list of Exam Objectives. The four Domains include: Risk Communication, Risk Analysis, Risk Response Planning, and Risk Governance. Risk Communication has four Exam Objectives which you will need to know and understand. These Exam Objectives should guide you through your studies. We have: Apply interpersonal skills; Assess stakeholder risk tolerance; Document risk-related information; and, Create regular status reports. Within Risk Analysis, Exam Objectives include: Identify risk; Evaluate risk attributes using qualitative and quantitative risk analysis; Prioritize risk; and, Establish control limits. Exam Objectives of the Risk Response Planning Domain include: Develop a risk-response strategy; Develop a contingency approach; and, Present recommendations to key stakeholders. And lastly, List Governance contains the following Exam Objectives: Document and record lessons learned; Refine risk policies and practices; Create the risk management plan; Establish metrics for risk management processes; Examine process performance; Monitor risk performance; and, Identify relevant policies and standards.
