In this movie we'll continue our review of the Workbook Exercises pertaining to the Risk Identification Process. We'll pick up right where we left off with Question 8, which says: Match each of the characteristics listed to the corresponding Tool and Technique of the Identify Risk Process. Beginning with Content item number 1, Attempts to create a comprehensive list of risks, the answer to this is B Brainstorming. Moving on to 2: Participants respond anonymously, this refers to C the Delphi Technique. Number 3: Include a multi-disciplinary set of experts. This refers to B Brainstorming. And remember that multi-disciplinary set of experts are not part of the project team already. Number 4: Identifies the source of risk. This refers to E Root Cause Analysis, and Root Cause Analysis is actually called Root Cause Identification in the Third Edition of the PMBOK Guide. Content item number 5: Performs a structured review, this refers to A the Documentation Review. Moving on to 6: May be conducted one-on-one, this describes D the Interviewing Tool and Technique. Number 7: Determines risk by comparing project planning to project requirements and assumptions. This is A Documentation Reviews. Characteristic 8: Sometimes utilizes the RBS as a Framework. This refers to B Brainstorming, and during Brainstorming participants sometimes use the risk categories or the RBS as a Framework for identifying risk. They then categorize risk by type. Moving on to 9: Groups risks by causes, the correct choice is E Root Cause Analysis, and again the name gives this one away. It's concerned with identifying the causes of risk, not just the risk itself individually. Ten: Attempts to reduce bias in the data, this is C the Delphi Technique, and it reduces the bias by obtaining feedback about important project risks in an anonymous fashion, and this is done through questionnaires sent to risk experts. By having these experts participate anonymously their feedback is not influenced by each other's feedback. Moving right along to 11: Concern with the quality of the project plans, this is A Documentation Reviews. Just a quick note that Quality Check comes out of comparing the plan to the project's requirements and assumptions in order to make sure that the plan is in line with the project. Characteristic 12: A primary source of risk identification gathering. This refers to D Interviewing, and this was a note in the Third Edition of the PMBOK Guide. And our final item, 13: Attempts to reach a consensus regarding project risks, and the answer to this one is the Delphi Technique, C. That was a fairly thorough list. I think by now you'll have these Tools and Techniques certainly nailed down. Let's move on to our final two review questions in the next movie.
