To wrap up this section of the Performance Reporting Process we'll go through the workbook exercises that are found within your Work Files pertaining to this process. This consists of just nine questions with our usual first four. Question 1, what is the purpose of the process? And that is to collect and distribute performance information including status reports, progress measurements and forecasting. Once again we see that the purpose of the process is aligned with the title of the process. In questions 2, 3 and 4 we're asked to fill in the inputs, the tools and techniques and outputs. As you can see there's a lot included here. Inputs include, work performance information, performance measurements, forecasted completion, quality control measurements, the project management plan, approve change requests and deliverables. And the tools and techniques include information presentation tools, performance information gathering and compilation, status review meetings, time reporting systems and cost reporting systems. And finally the outputs include the performance reports, forecast, requested changes, recommended corrective action and updates to the organizational process assets. As an additional exercise begin with performance reports and forecasts and work your way back. What information would you need to generate these two things and what tools and techniques can you use to do so? Moving on to question 5 what are performance reports? A performance report is a report that compares the analysis information provided against the performance measurement baseline. Notice that within these reports you're not just simply providing data, instead you're taking that data and converting it to useful information that will review how the project is performing. Question 6, what formats or performance reports displayed in? And you're asked to identify at least one. Where there were four to choose from based on what was covered during the review movies on this process. These include bar charts, S curves, histograms and tables. In question 7 you're presented with a multiple choice. Which of the following takes past project performance and looks how it could impact the project in the future? Is it A. forecast, B. performance reports, C. quality control measurements or D. time reporting systems? And the answer is A. forecasts. Question 8, define cost reporting systems. And the answer is cost reporting systems that record and provide the cost used towards the project. And the final question, what do information presentation tools typically include? These of course can vary greatly but here we have the examples that were provided within the process review movie which included presentations, spreadsheet analysis, table reporting and high quality graphics. We covered all the questions relating to the performance reporting process within your workbook, that brings this movie to a close, Next, we'll move into the Managed Stakeholders' Process.
