Subtitles of the Movie

In the previous movies within this section we covered all areas of the manage stakeholders process, now we'll turn our attention to the workbook exercises relating to this process. There are a total of 10 questions that we'll cover so we'll move right into the review. Question 1, what is the purpose of this process? And that is to satisfy the requirements of and resolve issues with the project stakeholders by managing communications. Here we're literally managing the project stakeholders. Next let's got through the inputs the tools and techniques and outputs of the process which cover questions 2, 3 and 4. There are some processes where the inputs, the tools and techniques and the outputs are very concise and flow easily, this is one of them. There are just two inputs, the communications management plan and organizational process assets, two tools and techniques which are the communication methods and issue logs and the outputs include resolved issues, approve change request, approved corrective actions, updates to the organizational process assets and updates to the project management plan. The biggest output here are the resolved issues. Question 5, who is responsible for stakeholder management. The answer is the project manager, this is important for you to remember so if information is missed if an issue was not addressed it's the project manager that is held accountable, who is responsible for staying on top of communications. Next name the four methods of communication and circle the best one. The four methods include face to face meetings, phone conferencing, web conferencing and email and the best option is always face to face meetings. Just as an added note although I did mention that virtual teams are more common then ever and this isn't always possible. Question 7, what are issue logs? These are logs with action items listed that are used to document and monitor the resolution of issues. In question 8 we'll go through the definition of several terms that we came across in this process, five to be exact. You were asked to match the definition with a term so let's go through them. Communication method the first one is D, methods identified for each project stakeholder within the communications management plan. Next approve corrective actions is C, changes meant to bring the anticipated future project performance back in line with the project management plan resolved issues is E, logs with action items listed that are used to document and monitor the resolution of issues. Next manage stakeholders which actually represent the process as a whole is A, the purpose which is to satisfy the requirements of and resolve issues with project stakeholders by managing communication and lastly we have issue logs which is B, issues that have been identified, resolved and documented. In question 9 you had to fill in the blank, asked to identify what the four examples represent on your screen which include agreement for contract follow up by the customer to resolve disagreement or conflict of scope, adding to staff when project is short staffed, negotiations with functional managers competing for staff and addressing financial issues raised that affect the continuation of the project. And the answer is resolved issues which are what the examples below describe. And the final question number 10, what process group does the manage stakeholders process belong to and the answer is monitoring and controlling process group. And that wraps up this review on the workbook exercises relating to the manage stakeholders process. If you haven't been going through the exercises before watching the workbook review movies I highly encourage you to do so moving forward. That concludes this movie and section on the manage stakeholders process.
