Introduction / Who Should Take this Course
Subtitles of the Movie
In this movie, I will help to clarify whether this course is meant for you. If you found PMBOK parts 1 through 3 helpful this course will provide you with the same type of value. In general, those interested in enhancing their Project Management Skills would benefit from one or all of the PMBOK courses, but I've broken it down to four groups. Those studying for the PMP Certification Exam, those studying for the CAPM Certification Exam, anyone looking to understand the PMBOK Guide since these courses break it down process by process and anyone looking to enhance their Project Management Skills in the subject of communications, risk and procurement. Even if you currently have your PMP Certification its important to continue the learning process and PMI who is the issuing organization of these two certifications I pointed out encourages this by requiring the credentials holders obtain at least 60 professional development units every three years in order to maintain credential. This course counts towards your PDU's. If you're not a credential holder yet and your studying for the exam to earn your credential this course counts towards your contact hours. So whether its to meet this requirements or simply to learn, this course along with the others in the PMBOK Series takes a subject that could be considered complex and breaks it down into manageable and more digestible pieces. Obtaining or maintaining your credential also gives you more earning potential since these certifications continue to gain greater recognition and value on a global level. And the final thing I'll mention is that when applying the concepts that we'll go through your essentially making your work easier since the PMBOK Guide focuses on efficiency, best practices and continuous improvement of the organizations processes and Project Management practices. This is one of the reasons that templates and previous project information is utilized in the majority of the processes within the PMBOK Guide and that wraps this movie. Hopefully I have helped you to clarify whether this course could be of value to you. If you're unsure of whether the certification would benefit you I recommend taking a look at PMBOK part 1 where both certifications are covered in detail including the benefits of adding either credential to your name. And that concludes this movie and in the next movie I'll go through how to get the most of this course including a description of documents that are found within your Work Files.
