Introduction / Who Should Take This Course
Subtitles of the Movie
Whether you are studying for one of the project management certification exams or looking to enhance your project management skills, selecting the right course is important. This is the purpose of this movie, to help you determine whether this course is right for you. Like PMBOK Part 2, we'll be covering three knowledge areas thoroughly within this course, and therefore, anyone looking for information related to these knowledge areas, would greatly benefit. If you fall into one of the following four groups, then this course is a good fit for you. If you are studying for the PMP exam, you are studying for the CAPM exam, and if you are studying for either of these two exams, then you would benefit from taking the entire course series to cover the entire PMBOK Guide. You're in the process of unlocking the PMBOK Guide, looking to understand the processes and concepts it contains or you are specifically looking to enhance your project management skills within these three topics, project cost which covers the planning, estimating, budgeting and controlling of project cost, project quality management, which covers the activities that determine the quality policies, objectives, and responsibilities, and the implementation of quality management system and, or project human resource management which involves organizing and managing the project team. I'll make an additional note regarding the first two groups, those taking the exams, some of the questions that applicants often have trouble with is cost, the intimidation usually comes from the fact that the cost knowledge area contains several formulas, for this reason, you will find several to put the formulas into practice, turning this section into one of the easiest you'll come across on the exam. If you could commit to memorizing the formulas, then applying them is the easy part. Another note I'll offer is in regards to quality and human resource. In addition to the knowledge area processes, we'll also be covering some key concepts and methods relating to management and human resource management that impact projects. If you are taking the PMP exam, you will need to recognize these methods since you're likely to get a related question or two on the exam. I'll wrap up this movie by reiterating something that was mentioned in previous courses, which is that the information presented is also geared towards enhancing your project management skills overall. If you consider that we're covering information that originates from a collection of project management best practices and concepts, it makes sense that you will come across something that will improve your skills, and that concludes this movie. Next, we'll move into a review of the Work Files and how you can utilize these documents to get the most out of this course.
