Subtitles of the Movie

In this movie, we will review the workbook questions found within your work files that relate to the Scope Planning Process. In this section there are six questions to the process. The first says what is the purpose of this process? And the purpose of the Scope Planning Process is to create the Project Scope Management Plan. As you might recall, the Scope Management Plan is a component of the Project Management Plan and it's responsible for defining, documenting, verifying, managing and controlling the project scope. Questions two, three and four are a review of the process's inputs, the tools and techniques and the outputs. The outputs of this process are fairly easy to remember and that's because there's just one; the Project Scope Management Plan. And you can remember this by understanding the fact that the Scope Management Plan is the guide to all the other Scope Knowledge Area Processes so without it, the other processes can not take place. Question five says what does the Scope Management Plan include? Well, I already gave part of this away when I mentioned that it's a guide to the other processes. Specifically though, there are four things. The first is that it includes the process to prepare a Detailed Project Scope Statement. The second is a process that enables the creation of the WBS and how it will be maintained and approved. The third is process that specifies how formal verification and acceptance of deliverables will be obtained. And the final process it includes is a process to control the processing of requested changes to the Project Scope Statement. Notice that each of these four items are a description of the remaining Scope Processes. For example, the first is Scope Definition. The second is Create WBS. The third is Scope Verification and the final one is Scope Control. Let's move on to question six which says templates, forms and standards is a tool and technique of this process. What are some of the things that this includes? And it includes the WBS templates, Scope Management Plan templates and Scope Change Control forms. And keep in mind that these are just examples of what it may include. And that covers all of the Scope Planning-related workbook questions. Remember that this process is an essential contributor to all the other scope-related processes.
