Subtitles of the Movie

In this movie, we will cover the workbook questions found within your work files that focus on Scope Control. Scope Control has nine questions, which we will review all in this movie. Question one simply asks you for the purpose of the process and that is to influence the factors that create a project scope changes and to control the impact of those changes. It seeks to prevent scope creep, which is where additional scope continues to be added to the project in an unplanned state, usually causing the project to miss deadlines, be over budget and sometimes fail. There are several inputs, tools and techniques and outputs as you see here in questions two, three and four, what have asked you to recall these items. But notice that the majority of the outputs are simply updates that were a result of Approved Changes. Question five says what does the Scope Control Process hope to avoid. This is something I gave away during a review of the purpose, which is scope creep. And question six says in regards to scope, what does the Change Control System include? And the Change Control System includes three things, which are the documentation, tracking systems and approval levels to authorize changes. Let' move right into question seven which says in regards to scope, what dos the Configuration Management System do? And the Configuration Management System provides the procedures for the status of the deliverables and also it ensures that changes are thoroughly thought through and also considered before submitted into the Integrated Change Control Process. Question eight says what does Variance Analysis tell the project team. The Variance Analysis helps to shed important light on variances. It tells a project team how much of a variance exists, what caused the variance and is corrective action needed to resolve it. And the last question, number nine, says what tends to cause the need for Re-Planning. And that is Approved Changes. Approved Changes result in several updates, as I mentioned earlier. Considering the fact that these changes are dealing with scope, you can understand why the need for so many updates takes place. And that concludes this movie on the Scope Control workbook review questions.
