In this movie, we will pick up where the previous movie left off which was a review of the Schedule Development Workbook questions. We ended with question 13, so now we'll move on to cover questions 14 through 19. Question 14 says, what are the two schedule compression techniques and these are Crashing and Fast Tracking. As a refresher, Crashing usually involves adding resources and Fast Tracking typically involves having multiple activities performed in parallel verses in sequence. Question 15 asks what kind of technique is a Monte Carlo Analysis and the answer is a What If Scenario. Question 16 asks, describe a resource leveling scenario. There were 3 presented to you during the process review. These were, to meet specified delivery dates when critical or shared resources are required available at given timeframes and to keep resource usage at a constant level through out the project work. Moving right along to Question 17, at a minimum what does a project schedule include? And that is plan start and finish dates for each schedule activity. It may also include a project target schedule containing target start dates and target finish dates for each schedule activity. Question 18 says, the project schedule is often presented in graphical format, name the three commonly used formats. And these include the Project Schedule Network Diagrams, bar charts and milestone charts. As you can see here on the screen you can also take a look at what they typically show. For example, the Project Schedule Network Diagram usually shows the project network logic and the projects critical path schedule activities. Whereas the Bar Cart shows the activities start and end dates and the expected durations. And the Milestone Chart is similar to the Bar Chart except that it only identifies the scheduled start or completion of major deliverables and key external interfaces. This is one the reasons that stakeholders are typically interested more in the Milestone Chart. And the final question for review number 19 says, at a minimum what is the schedule model data include? It includes schedule milestones, schedule activities, activity attributes and documentation for all identified assumptions and constraints. The schedule model data may also include resource requirements by time period, alternative schedules and schedule contingency reserves. And that wraps up the Schedule Development Process, I highly recommend going through several practice questions, while calculating the critical paths, float and memorizing the necessary formulas for doing so.
