In this movie, we will take a look at the final questions within your workbook which cover the Schedule Control Process. You can find the workbook within your work files; there are a total of 8 questions for review. Question One says, what is the purpose of this process and simply put the purpose of this process is to control changes to the project schedule. Like the previous process this process has many inputs, tools and techniques and outputs. But notice that most of these outputs are updates as a result of approved changes. Question 5 says name two things that this process is concerned with. There were four things you could have chosen from, these include; the current status of the project schedule, influencing factors that create changes to the schedule, determining whether the schedule has changed and managing actual changes as they occur. Question 6 says if the 80-20 rule is applied to the level of completion for an activity, what is the percentage of completion reflected? There are 3 rules to percent complete that this question referenced, but first of all let me go ahead and give you the answer, which is 20 percent. And the three rules include the 50-50 rule, where an activity is marked as 50 percent complete after receiving credit for initial 50 percent completion. And in the 20-80 rule which is what we applied for our question, where we mark, the activity has 20 percent complete after receiving credit for the initial 80 percent completion and the 0-100 rule where an activity receives credit only when a 100 percent complete. Question 7 says what does a Schedule Change Control System include? It includes paperwork, tracking systems and approval levels required for authorizing changes. And the final question says, the project you are managing has experienced large updates to the schedule requiring that several changes be made to the Schedule Baseline. Before making changes, what should you do? And the answer is, save the original baseline for the historical database. Have you noticed that everything gets archived for the most part. The point is that this information tells the story of the project, this is how processes are improved and work can be shortened for the next project. If a similar project is taken up in the future knowing why such large baselines changes were made is extremely beneficial and with that we wrap up this movie on Schedule Control along with the review of the Time Knowledge Area Processes.
