Subtitles of the Movie

In this movie, we will go through the Project Time Knowledge Area Assessment. The assessment is a great way for you to practice and test yourself on the high-level concepts of the knowledge area. It's a good check to see whether you are retaining the information. This is why it's recommended that you go through the assessment before the overview and if you didn't get an opportunity, then I suggest going through it before watching the rest of this movie and then once again after going through the individual processes of this knowledge area. Let's dive right into the assessment. The first item asks you to provide the overall purpose of the knowledge area and that is simply to accomplish the timely completion of the project. It's literally focused on time. There are six processes. You should be able to identify all the processes of the knowledge area. These are definitely worth memorizing. They include the Activity Definition, Activity Sequencing, Activity Resource Estimating, Activity Duration Estimating, Schedule Development and Schedule Control. You'll also need to know the process group that each process belongs to. After going through a detailed review of each process and fully understand what it is doing, figuring out the process group becomes easy. So let's go ahead and go through these. The Time Knowledge Area is quite easy to remember because the first five are all part of the Planning Process Group. And the last process is part of the Monitoring and Controlling Process Group. The purpose of each process is also important to know. The purpose unlocks the outputs, which in turn allow you to figure out the rest of the process. The purpose of the Activity Definition Process is to create a list of scheduled activities necessary to produce the project deliverables. The purpose of Activity Sequencing is to identify and document the logical relationships among the scheduled activities. And Activity Resource Estimating estimates the type and the quantity of resources needed per activity. Activity Duration Estimating is responsible for estimating the number of work periods needed per scheduled activity. And the purpose of Schedule Development is to create the Project Schedule and Schedule Control controls changes to the Project Schedule. And the final piece of the assessment includes noting down the key outputs of the processes. If you want to take it one step further, you'll have an opportunity to test your memory of the inputs, tools and techniques and outputs of each process in the workbook found within your work files. Let's go through the key outputs. Activity Definition has the following key outputs: Activity List, Activity Attributes and Milestone List. For Activity Sequencing, we have the Project Schedule Network Diagrams, Activity Resource Estimating, has the Activity Resource Requirements and Resource Breakdown Structure. Activity Duration Estimating has the Activity Duration Estimates. And for Scheduled Development we have the Project Schedule, the Schedule Model Data and the Schedule Baseline. And finally, Schedule Control has Performance Measurements, Recommended Corrective Actions and Requested Changes. And that concludes this movie on the Time Knowledge Area Assessment Review. Next, we will move into a detailed review of each process within this knowledge area.
