In this movie, we'll shift gears to focus on the questions within your workbook relating to the Activity Resource Estimating Process. There are eight questions in total that we'll cover. The first question is what is the purpose of this process. And that purpose is estimating the type and quantity of resources that are needed per activity. In questions two through four, you have an opportunity to see how many of the inputs, tools and techniques and the outputs you've retained. Notice a few key outputs, Activity Resource Requirements and Resource Breakdown Structure, which is noted by its acronym, RBS. During a couple of the processes, we stopped for a moment to determine the connection between the inputs, tools and techniques and the outputs. This helps to bring about an understanding of the process as a whole, what is going on within it versus studying each individual piece and missing these important connections, which is something I suggest that you do here. Let's move on to cover our other questions since we already devoted a lot of time to reviewing these inputs, tools and techniques and outputs already. Question five states what three types of resources exist. These include people, equipment and materials. It's common not to think of equipment and materials as resources, but for purposes of planning, it's important to acknowledge them as such. And question six states what does the Schedule Management Plan do. There are three primary things to note. They are that it sets the format and establishes the criteria for developing and controlling the Project Schedule. It documents the Project Time Knowledge Area Processes and it establishes a Schedule Baseline. Let's move on to question seven, which says within the Activity Resource Requirements, what is included within the documentation. There are three items included. These are the basis of estimate for each resource, any assumptions that were made and the quantity of resources. It's also good to note that Activity Resource Requirements are aggregated to estimate resources for each work package. It isn't until the Schedule Development Process that the work packages and the decomposed deliverables are aggregated together to provide an overall project estimate. And the final question for review says what do Resource Calendars show. And that is the quantity of resources available during each availability period. Resource Calendars, by the way, reflect the working and non-working days that a specific resource, whether a person or material, can be active or is idle. Also, don't forget that this is a component of the Project Management Plan. And that brings this movie to a close and wraps up the Activity Resource Estimating Process as a whole.
