In this lesson let's continue to look at those key elements in Microsoft Word. We talked about if you click on this File Tab you go back to what's called a backstage area. This backstage is kind of like your management area for your files. You can work on Microsoft Word as a whole with it's options, your account with Microsoft. You can open, save, share files. Remember you can share things whether or not somebody has Microsoft Word. If I want to go back to where I came from and work on my document just hit the back arrow. At the top left is your Quick Access Toolbar. You can change that just by hitting that little down arrow. If I want to draw a table up there just hit that little option and check it. If you don't want something you just click it and it will remove it. If you lay your mouse arrow on those items it will pop up and tell you what they are. That's a little tooltip. Notice in some tooltips you will see a keyboard shortcut. So you can see right there the Undo Option, I can do a Control Z to undo. Over here at the far left is the restore, minimize maximize, close options for Word as a whole program. I also get those same options over here. Minimize takes it down to my Taskbar, restore brings it down, I can resize that if I want to. Anytime you have a two headed arrow, you that resizes an item in a Windows program. I can also maximize. You have your Close Button over here also and ribbon display options. I can hit that and then of course my Help. Down here at the bottom right are my modes and my layouts. This is Reading Mode, Print and Web Layout, we'll work with those layouts and you can also zoom in and out of your document if you'd like to. Over here at the left is my Status Bar, tells me page what I'm on, how many words are in my document and if I have any proof reading errors. I can click that and it will automatically spellcheck and grammar check my document for me. Last but not least on my Window up here is my Title Bar. The title of this document right now is just Document 1 because I have not saved it and it's in the program Microsoft Word. I'll hit my little Save Button, I'll save it on my computer. I'll put it on the desktop and you'll notice now there is my file name and again I'm in Microsoft Word the program. Last but not least I want to show you under the View Tab there, I can check this box to bring up my ruler if I need to see that. And then not only do I have a ruler across the top I have it down the side. You'll notice my margins are grayed out here. These little things will work with those, those are your tabs and your indents. And then of course over here at the right is my Scroll Bar. You can grab that with your arrow or you can use the up and down arrows or some people use the up and down arrows on their keyboard. So those are the key elements of Microsoft Word. Take a look around the program, make sure you understand what the backstage is and then on your Start Screen, remember you can go in here and check that if you want to. And show the Start Screen or uncheck it and remove it, it's completely up to you whatever you prefer.
