In this video, we'll talk about changing a user profile. When you create a user account in Windows Vista, Vista creates a user profile that is unique to your account. A user profile stores settings for your desktop and other information such as files and folders that are part of your account only. If you use Vista on more than one computer, Vista lets you create a different profile on every computer you use, or you can select a roaming profile that is the same on every computer you use. Here is how. Click the start button and then click Control Panel. Click the User Accounts and Family Safety link. Now click the User Accounts link. Your user account appears in the window. In the Tasks list, click the Configure Advanced User Profile Properties link. The User Profiles window appears and displays the profiles stored on your computer for your account, including the computer and user name, how much space is allocated to the user profile, and the profile type. If you want to change the profile type from local to roaming, click the Change Type button. Unfortunately, roaming profiles are not available in the released Canada Two version of Vista. But you can change your profile to roaming by clicking the Roaming Profile button. For now, I will click the Cancel button and then click the Cancel button to close the User Profiles window.
