Welcome to the Virtual Training Company's video training series of Microsoft's Windows Server 2008 Operating System. Hello, My name is Mark Long and I'll be your instructor throughout this course and I'm going to give you a really good overview about Microsoft's newest server operating system and we'll talk about the various versions and I really want to help you kind of get up to speed on this operating system, especially what's different from the previous version which was Windows Server 2003, so that's what we're going to be about in this video. Now let me tell you a little bit about myself so you'll understand how you got me. I live in Nashville Tennessee and I always start out my courses with a warning, you might detect a slight southern accent so if that bothers you, I'm sorry, you'll get used to it by the end of the series, trust me. My wife got used to it. I live in Nashville because I think it's one of the most beautiful places on the planet, number one. It's a very exciting place to live, but also I have a job here, so that helps. I work in the Nashville area as a consultant and a trainer, I've started my own business in 1996 after spending eighteen years with a large telecommunications firm here in the southeastern United States. So what I try to do with my series on every class that I do is to bring real world experience into here and so that's exactly what I'm going to do for you here. We're going to go over the way Microsoft states and markets this fabulous offering of Windows Server 2008 and then we're going to try to give you some real world and kind of give you some hands on and some heads up about how to make this thing spin and hum and do what you need it to do.
