Subtitles of the Movie (Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (70-290) / Preparation for the 70-290 Test / The Day of the Test)

You want to be both physically and mentally prepared to go take the certification test. So get a good night sleep if you schedule the test for the first thing in the morning don't stay all night up studying for it. You are just going to hurt yourself in the long run. Get a good night sleep and make sure that you go into the test fresh and ready to go. Eat something that you like prior to going to take the test. You are going to go to take it in the morning eat a great breakfast if it is in the afternoon eat a great lunch. When you eat food you like it makes you feel better. When you feel better you perform well, that is psychologically proven as it is common sense. Get to the test center early and bring two forms of identification. They are going to ask for them. So make sure that you have what they need so that you are not scrambling around trying to find your driving license or trying to find another form of identification so that you can go take the test. The last thing that you need is another distraction right before you go take the test. Review right before the test but don't cram. Cramming is trying to shove additional information into your head. That probably should have studied before 5 minutes before you about to go to take the test. Reviewing is just going back over the information that you already know. So review information but if you need to learn more you probably not going to do that 5 or 10 minutes before you go take the test. You are probably not going to get prepared if you are not already prepared. So just review the information that you already know but don't cram. Reason that you don't want to cram but if you cram you can't relax. It is very important that you relax before you go take the test. You may be thinking how am I going to relax I mean every thing is on the line that I go take the test. No, it is not. It costs $125 to take the test and if you don't pass it then you take it again. If you don't pass it second time you can wait 2 weeks and you can take it again. Now, I want you to be passed so that I am giving you the tips to go take and pass the test. But understand that this is not a life and death situation. So relax if you are doing what you love to do then you should step back and take a look at what you are doing this for. If you are changing career for your getting better at your career by getting the certification then it is great. Think about that. Think about the fact that you are on the right track and just relax and go prove that you can pass the test. You don't want to go into the test trying to pass the test. What you want to do go into the test proving that you can pass the test. In other words you don't want to go in not knowing whether you will pass or not, you want to know that you are going to pass and then just go in and prove it. It is whole different psychology. So take any practice tests that are offered if you haven't used the testing software before. For example sometimes thye offer you a practice test that has nothing to do with computers, but it just to get used to the testing engine. I highly recommend going ahead and doing that, it doesn't count against to your time. Now we start reading questions. Don't assume read the whole question and all of the possible answers before you respond. On the 70-290 you will have plenty of time as you get further into the Microsoft track you have to get faster and faster at simulating information continuing on. But on 70-290 you have plenty of time if you just read the question, read all of the possible answers and then formulate the response. Otherwise you can turn question into 4 or 5 questions. If you read the question and read one of the response and try to determine whether that is right you another response and try to determine whether that is right and you read another response and try to determine if that is right you are going to end up multiplying effect of the test. You don't want to do that so read the whole question and all possible answers before you respond. If you do it this way you will actually learn from the test. And the test might actually help you answer some of the other question on the same test. There is no guarantee though because Microsoft tries to make it where you can't do that. But sometimes you still can. Last tip is review the test just to make sure that the responses are what you intended. But be very careful about changing your first response. Because when you went in you are fresh and your mind was fresh when you go back over and review it when you finish taking the test you are not going to be as fresh and sharp as you were. So you must be very careful about changing the first response. Just make sure that you have got the check marks in the right places and the right places you had intended in the first place. You feel like you learned something from the test then fine. But be very careful about changing first response. So you know what you need to do. Go take and pass the 70-290 test. You can do it.
