As we said before what need to backup is anything that we can't live without and can't replace. As you can see once we put a software update service in place it is going to be tough to live without it. So we need to backup our software update services. We need to back it up in the right way so that we don't miss anything. In particular what we need backup is the website directory that is stored in which is INet Pub and we need to backup the software update services themselves which are in the IIS metabase which are called metaback. So now we take a look at the backup tool and see how we find these and set the backup. So if we click on start and remember backup tools pinned to the start menu and so click on backup and then we want to click on advanced and then go into the backup wizard, click on next, then we are going to say we want to backup selected files, drives and network data so click on next then what we going to do is expand my computer and then expand C. INet pub is right inside the c:\ so there is INet pub. Now we want the windows folder. We are going to expand the windows folder and then within the windows folder we want to expand the system32 folder. We are going to keep on going down they are in alphabetical order and we are going to find system32 folder and what we are going to do is expand it. Now within the system 32 folder there is an Inetserv folder. The Inetserv folder needs to be expanded and within the Inetserve folder there is the metaback. So if we backup these things then we will have a good backup of our software update services. Then we just click on next then the system then will come back and say Ok. Here is what is that you wanted to backup, you want it to make sure that you have got the following things so then we can be assured that we have our software update services because in fact we backed them up. So this is the end of our formal part of our training. But we said that we had 2 objectives in this training. Number 1 was that you will be more comfortable with Windows 2000 and with Server 2003 in particular and that you would be able to take and pass the Microsoft 70-290 test so in next chapter we will discuss preparation for the 70-290 test.
