Now let's take a look at kind of some of the really cool functionalities that you're going to see in Windows 7. Now these things I'm about to show you now called Peek, Shake and Snap are part of the Windows Aero Effects, OK? Now let me just kind of reiterate here that if I right-click and go to Personalize, you'll see that the theme that I have, I have chosen this landscape theme here OK? And you can tell, notice basic and high contrast themes, now these aren't the Aero Themes but the Aero Themes here I've chosen the landscapes and so that's what I have. You'll notice the transparency here, notice right up here you'll notice the transparency here. And this tells me that I'm in the Aero and its working, OK? Now let me say something before this starts. If for example if you can't see the Aero, alright, you can look around on here and when you go to this, when you first go to this personalization and screen resolution you can see things about the Aero situation and if you can't see it you will see a troubleshooting link that you can click to help you troubleshoot why you can't see Aero, OK? Usually if you see that it means you've got a problem and you're not going to see it anyway. You're going to have to download some drivers for your video adapter or whatever. But let's talk about some of these things. First of all I'm going to open three Windows. I'll open My Computer, I'll open some Libraries, notice I've kind of made these a little smaller and then I'm going to open Microsoft Word, OK? Now one of the things that will happen a lot of times is if you're working out here and you're trying to, you've got to maintain three or four windows, but once you do that there's something in the background that you need and so you start minimizing things. Well there's a shortcut here and this is called Peek. Notice if I pull it up so that the toolbar shows up, if I have it on Auto Hide this little area to the right, notice if I just mouse over it all the windows become transparent and I can see the Desktop down there OK, and I can see whatever needs to happen and then I can come back and see what's going on, OK? Pretty cool thing. Now if I come down here and click on this everything goes down to the Taskbar OK, and I can work and then when I'm done I can click this again and it will show the Desktop back to me, OK? So that's called Peek alright? Now the next one, this one's really cool, is called Shake. Let's say that I'm working and I decide that I'm going to work in Microsoft Word and I want all this other junk to go away, OK? What I can do is grab this, grab the Titlebar I'm holding it down as if I'm going to drag it and then I just Shake it back and forth and you notice everything went down to the taskbar. When I want that stuff to come back, grab it again, Shake it and there it is, it comes back, OK? So, let me spread these out so you can see them, OK? So if I Shake it they go away and if I Shake it again they come back, OK? Now, there's a lot of cool things you can do with that and that's just designed to help you manage the clutter on the Desktop, OK? Now, another cool thing that you can do if you remember back in previous versions you know you could right click and say you know say stack the windows side by side and all that sort of thing and that was ok, it was kind of cool, I'll undo that. There's an even better thing now. Let's say that I want to see My Computer and I want to see Word split the windows OK? So I can just grab this, drag it to the left and you will see it show that transparent guide there, let it go and I've now snapped it to the side and then I'll go grab Microsoft Word, pull it to the right side and I can snap it. Pretty neat stuff, right? And now so both of these are snapped. To undo one I just simply pull it away and down and there it is, I can still double click my Title bar and make it snap up there, make it snap full screen. There's something else I can do that you may like and you may want to go turn this off. But when I'm working with a Window and I want it full screen just grab it to the top and if you noticed it kind of expanded and I can just pull it down. So instead of double clicking it, I just grab it, drag up until I see the little swoosh come out there and then I'm full screen and I can pull it back down, OK? So that is Peek down here, OK? Shake and Snap, OK? Some really cool stuff that you can use to help you manage your Desktop in Windows 7. So go play with these but again to get the full effect of these things you have to be running Aero.
