One last thing I want to show you about the visual studio .NET environment that's really neat thing is the task list. And if you'll notice the task list, I have it down here and I have it push pinned and I'm going to stick this thing right here so that it will stay up here and we can look at it. So that we can see it and I'm going to try to get a fine balance here. First of all, if I want to add a new task, let's say that I'm coding along in my project and I remember something that I need to do. OK, I can click here to add a new task and I can say add code to the worker class, and I can put more information out there. And now when I put this out there, you'll notice that I have this code and I can come back later and check it. And that will mean that it's been done. And you'll see that there's this line through it. That's kind of neat, but that's almost an, I don't know what you call it for lack of a better term, an ignorant notepad. So what I want to do is go back and use this thing in a way that is really going to help me, and first of all let's talk about comments. I can comment some things in here by putting a quote, you know, and then saying 'this class is used in a console app'. And notice it's in green and that is a comment, no big deal. Also just as information, if I want to comment a number of lines like these lines right here, I highlight them then I come up here on the tool bar and you will notice this is the 'comment out the selected lines'. And when I click that, it will put comments on all those, as I just commented out all that information. So I'm going to go back and choose them once again and then undo that. Uncomment them and so I've undone that. So there's something really neat, comments in the task window work hand in hand. I want you to notice something, if I type, if I put a single quote to start my comments and type TODO in all caps: 'place more code here'. Now as soon as I come off of that, notice it automatically added a 'to do' down here in my tasks. Now I'm going to add another to do down here in my sub-main and make it where you can see it here. We'll say - 'TODO Something in Sub Main", and notice when I come off of this, it put a TODO Something in Sub Main. I'll bring up this a little. Now if I wanted to go look at this to do statement you'll notice it's in this module but its own line 13, we are down here in line 31 now. If I point at this particular to do and just double click notice it took me to that location in the code, so I can basically put tasks in there by writing comments in my code, and I can do whatever I want to. I'm going to clear this out and notice when I did, it took it away. And then if I want to get to my other to do, I just simply double click and I can go to there, and I will take it out. Now to do is really neat but there are some other ones I can use hack, and so if I put hack and put some text out there, then you'll notice hack writes in here automatically. Ok, and now I know what you are thinking. Wow, it would be cool if I could put my own stuff in there. Well notice if I go to tools up in the menus, then go to options, now I'm going to choose task list right here. And notice hack to do, and undone, and then unresolved merged conflict are already out there. But notice if I'm programming on this, I can put Mark in here and add Mark and then let's say that Janet, one of our developers is coding. Now what we can do is whenever I begin a comment with 'Mark', you put 'this is a test', notice that went down here and if I put one in for Janet. Notice Janet goes in; and again we can go back to these locations by double clicking down here in the task bar and it moves them back up there, and I am going to take both of these back out You can see that the task list has been automated somewhat and I could even customize this on a tools menu. And you'll notice after I put in Mark in, if I later come to my senses and realize that was not a good idea I could just go delete it out. And nobody's the worse for it. So that's the way to use the task list and the specialized comments to update the task list for you automatically. Next we are going to shift gears and in the next few videos we are going to talk about types, what a type is, what does typesafe mean and how types are used in Visual Basic .NET. Take a look at those videos and I'll see you there.
