Saving & Executing Projects / Modifications & Re-saving

Subtitles of the Movie

We've already discussed how to save project, but often times you may find yourself wanting to save a project but you want to add to that project and keep the original intact. This can be done but not very easily within the studio visual environment. Here's my suggestion when you want to save a project and you want to keep the original intact. First, go to where your project has originally been saved on your computer system. In my case, it is saved on my hard drive in a folder called Sample. The first thing I will do is to right click and copy to create a copy of this entire folder. I will then paste and then a copy of this folder has now been created. As you can see, the complete project is in both folders. So the next thing I want to do is to rename Copy of Sample to for example another name such as Sample Extra, just to give it a different name. So now I have at this point two projects identical, one called Sample, one called Sample Extra. I can now open up Sample Extra and launch the form from within that sample folder that will then re-launch that project into my Visual Studio environment. Once again, if I open my Visual Studio environment and I do not see the form, I simply go to my solution explorer, click on the form name, and that should appear in the form window. I can now safely work with this project and leaving my original intact. After I make my changes to this project I can simply click on the Save All button and then now what I'm saving is my Sample Extra in this case, so remember instead of trying to resave your projects within the individual studio environment, go to your My Computer or whatever utility you're comfortable with to make copies of your folders and then rename that second folder and then re-launch that within the Studio Visual environment. You will have far less trouble with your projects and creating conflicts if you do it in that manner.
