Adding doors and windows is very simple. We can just drag the shape onto the page, and then position it over the approximate location where we want it. So if we want a door here, we go there till it glues into place and you will see that it's positioned automatically, the opening is made and it adjusts to the thickness of the wall there. Then if we want to move it along, we can simply drag it to the position you want it. Likewise for a window - if I want to put a window here for example, notice how it turned by itself to the right orientation, and snapped and glued into place there. So if we move the structure now that window will certainly move along with the rest of the wall. And again we can resize it by clicking and dragging, the other way if we want to type in say some precise measurement for the dimension of the window or the door, we could go View and select the Size & Position window, and here it is here. It gives us the width and height of that item, and its X and Y positions also. I will just place that down here; use the pushpin to place it out of the way for the time being. There's also some useful shortcuts. If we click on the door and select with the right mouse, move along here a bit, you can see that Oh, I need to select the door; we have go here Reverse Left/Right Opening - if I click that you will see the effect of that, or Reverse In/Out Opening. So now it's opening out rather than in. We can also find out more information about the doors and widows we are placing or insert more information about them, by viewing the Custom Properties window. And here you will see here that we have got the door width and door height and also a door type. So if we wanted to change that door for example to double hung, we could select it there, and you will see how that's showing as a double hung door now. We can change the percentage the door's open, 25%, and the door moves accordingly. And then there's the other factors here about the door we can type in information about it, which we can then use when generating reports to come up with, say, the door and window schedule to give to a builder for example. The changes we make to custom properties affect only the shape that we have selected; there are also other changes we can make which affect all shapes on the page, and we can access those by going up to Plan and selecting Set Display Options. And then we get this set display options dialog box appearing. So for example on the doors, we may not want to show the door swing; so we could take the check mark off there and apply it, and now we have lost that door swing line there. And likewise for windows, there's changes we can make. At the moment there's no windowsill showing on that window, so we could click that and select apply, and now we see a windowsill there. So we have got that windowsill showing there now, we can make additional changes by selecting the Properties button. And we can now see the set window component properties dialog box, and here we can make further adjustments to how things look. So we have just added a sill, it's showing for example the outside sill with a depth of 50 mm - we could change that say to 100mm. And let's have a look at how that affects the sill there. If I now go Apply, you will see how that sill has gone out to show a 100mm sill. So these changes we are making now will affect all the windows on the diagram. So going OK on that, if we were to drag another window up here for example, you will see that it has that 100mm sill showing on the outside. On a multiple page drawing, those settings have to be made for each page independently. So I would have to go down here, select page-2 and then go up here and select the Display Options again, and set my requirements for each page in turn. Let's fit out the room now to show you how easy that is to do. If we look to Office Furniture and say I want to put a credenza against my wall, I just drag that onto the shape, and drag it into place. It's not going to fit with my window, so I will place my window down there a little further. Okay and how about a bookshelf would be good. I'd like to rotate that in the right orientation, and then place that against the wall also, move my window to a better location there. And let's put a round table for meetings here, make it a little bit smaller, place some chairs, and I am going to put my door up here. And over here, I'd like to have a desk with a computer on, so the best place to look for that is Cubicles and we'll select a corner surface And if I then select Shape on the dropdown list here and I can flip horizontal and drag that against the corner till it glues into space, into place I should say And let's put that chair under the desk, and this one under the table. Now that one's showing on top of the table, so we go Shape> Order>Send to Back, and now it appears under. If we want to rotate that into the right orientation of course we can do that. Likewise here, and then we need a computer, which we can find on Office Equipment - put that on the desk and rotate it appropriately. So you can see now that we have pretty much set up an office how we like it; we might like to put a plant in the corner, a rubbish bin perhaps, and what about a small plant on the desk. And there's our completed office.
